So, I am currently on the final Captain Toad level. I don’t expect to do the speed challenges (I may do some attempts for fun, but it’s just not something I really care to do) so this is kind of my final level in Captain Toad. And wow, do I hate it. <\/p>\n
I haven’t made it unknown that I can’t stand the Mummy mechanic. I think the extra challenges are fun by themselves without the need for the Mummy challenges which I feel adds an extra hecticness that I just do not enjoy in my puzzle games. I generally play puzzle games more for thought exercises and relaxation so the added stress of something forever chasing you gets frustrating quickly (and in a similar sense, I don’t enjoy the speed runs either because I like enjoying Captain Toad and not trying to just rush through it over and over). <\/p>\n
Overall though, I actually find Mummy-Me Maze Forever “easier” than Mummy-me at Pyro Puff Peak which involved gathering 170 coins. I think Mummy-Me Maze Forever just allows more flexibility despite how hectic it can get at points.<\/p>\n
Even though I’ve figured out what I need to do to complete Mummy-Me Maze Forever, that doesn’t actually make it any less hard. There are parts that are completely unforgiving and considering you constantly have to be sprinting, it actually hurts after a while… and it is not a short level with 50 floors.<\/p>\n
You have a break on floors 10, 20, 35, 45, and 50.
\nFloors 5, 15, 25, 30, and 40 contain Chargin’ Chucks and Magikoopas\/Kameks. <\/p>\n
While most of the areas contain stationary enemies (afterall, you’re being chased enough as it is and will have 4 Mummies chasing you by the end of it), you will eventually have to deal with floors of Boos and Goombas which, while easy enough to avoid in general, if you do accidentally hit a dead-end there is a high chance you will die if you have already been hit.<\/p>\n
Each level has at least 105 coins. If you’re lucky, a normal mushroom, golden mushroom, or large pile of coins will spawn (essentially like 5 different piles of coins close together). These seem random as to why they do spawn (I’ve sometimes gotten them even on the first level), but they are quite helpful. Similarly, there is also the pick axe which is the only thing that can kill the Mummy and get help make levels a bit easier.<\/p>\n
Once you’ve hit level 5, I’d highly recommend no longer bothering to get all the coins. I think in general, most people will want to collect all the coins on earlier levels in preparation (afterall, you need 5,000 by the end), but this isn’t actually needed. The spawn rates of those bonus coins do go up as you get higher and you will actually get 1800 coins just from the final floor so you only really need to try and get at least 3,200. I managed to get 2.9K at the 21st floor so it’s honestly not too bad. But honestly, as soon as you hit level 5, just work on getting to the end as quickly as possible. You will easily earn enough coins just making your way there and if you miss a coin, do not go back for it. While one Mummy is easy to control, the 2nd Mummy easily stands much further back while the next two Mummy will be towards the middle and thus, the best thing to really do is to keep moving forward<\/b>. Always choose between not getting hit to grabbing some extra coins. <\/p>\n
There is, of course, still some randomness to it–the maze itself is randomly generated each time along with placements of coins, enemies, and any other extra spawns with the only thing staying the same is the Mummy’s and their distance from you. <\/p>\n
That said, I do wish they either removed the Mummies or changed some other things around. I don’t really enjoy having to sprint the entire time. v-v; Now I am off to try again… <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
