For those of you who are already subscribed to the Newsletter, you should still receive your emails normally, but you may need to reconfirm. For those of you unaware of it, we’ve had a service for some time where you can be automatically emailed every time I make a new post! At the moment, the only other ways to be notified are:
- Through our official Facebook page
- Through our Tumblr (at least until Jetpack decides to no longer do so– Twitter Feed has already been destroyed due to recent changes on the site)
- Directly following our RSS feed.
Keep in mind, this is only for new posts— not new pages of any kind (but I’ll usually mention them outside of guides which will just be added to their directory pages). For better security and more customization, we recently switched services and thus, have a new sign-up form. As mentioned, anyone who has signed up previously should hopefully still be subscribed if you’ve confirmed previously (and hopefully receive an email when this goes through)– if you haven’t, you likely did not confirm your email and may need to resubscribe.
The reason I’m making this post is because previously, we just had it on the sidebar of the website. This time, the sidebar instead links to a page where you can sign up if the sign up form doesn’t slide in from the left side automatically. It’s a small pop-in, does not work like a pop-up, and can be closed fairly easily while also not covering anything (unless you have a small monitor or likely if you’re on mobile– I apologize, but it can still be closed easily). Besides announcing the newsletter update, I also am making this post for more opinions on if people like the little slide in or would rather the form be solely in the sidebar.
