Tomodachi Life: The Newest Married Couple

Normally, I don’t make entries just for one event (okay, wait, that’s a total lie, yes I do), but I also want to use this entry to talk a bit about the game they are from (As you may have noticed from the QR Codes, anyone I don’t actually know is from some kind of game or show) and how I ended up playing it. And a bit of a dedication to the friends I met because of it (you know who you are!).

Thus, moving onto the newest married couple… Subaru and Luna! From Mega Man Star Force/Ryuusei no Rockman:

Subaru had asked to propose (which I found interesting as he also was the one to confess–I’ve found it usually switches), so I picked the Fireworks for where as it was only fitting:

They are also my first married couple to both be confident which means they have a new house style.

This is probably the easiest time I had with a pairing I wanted to get together. They became best friends nearly instantly (despite how many people were in the apartment by the time I put them in) and I’m pretty happy they got together considering they are one of my favorite pairings and one that is very special to me!

Mega Man Star Force is actually the only Mega Man series I’ve played. I knew Roll from when she was a secret character is Marvel vs. Capcom and Ciel (and Zero) because the Zero series is my fiancé’s favorite. Obviously, I also knew the main character and Rush, the dog. Besides that, I only knew who created it, who produced it, and some of the music from it!

The day Mega Man Star Force was coming out in the US, Mr. Inafune was doing an autograph signing in NY. My fiancé asked me if I could go and get an autograph for him and so I headed into the city early that morning and got a spot (I was about #4 in line–most people ended up showing up much later). It then hit me that I didn’t have anything to be signed. Used to just getting things like a notebook page signed from Disney, the idea of actually getting a picture of item signed is something I forget. A lot. So I quickly ran into the store to see if I could buy something to get signed. I noticed Mega Man Star Force listed which felt perfect since it was the brand new game and since I was at a Gamestop, I’ll get the exclusive version! Perfect. I even picked up two so I could play it and maybe not feel so out of place.

That said, everyone was really nice. Nobody criticized me–anything I had to answer was for people doing press (and things mostly like “If you could add anything to a game, what would it be?” which was still hard!) and thankfully I wasn’t included with stuff so… I was especially impressed with the person next to me. They made this AMAZING poster of Megaman and every enemy that had been in the games for Mr. Inafune to sign. It was really beautiful and amazing and I still feel bad I don’t remember his name. He was super super super awesome and nice though! (And really talented. Just wow.)

So, I played my Starforce game so I would feel less stupid there and I -really- liked the characters. Luna and Subaru/Geo became a quick favorite after the whole scene when he called her a Satellite. After finishing the game, I watched the Anime. The first time, I stopped rather early. And I’m going to say right now, if you haven’t seen the Anime–play the game first. The anime really kills almost all of Luna’s character development and completely ruins one of the biggest character driven scenes of hers in the game. I eventually did finish the Anime after stopping at that point and I’m glad I did–Episodes #46 and #47 are really great in that aspect, though, the whole Ophiuchus episode still makes me sad.

Mr. Inafune was very nice. He even signed both games and both T-shirts (they gave out T-Shirts so my buying the game twice wasn’t actually needed but I don’t regret doing so!) and I had a very good time. And got a new game I really liked with characters I found really awesome which lead to meeting lots of great people. So yep! Very happy for this.

Tomodachi Life: Recent Happenings

Things have been kind of silly lately (of course, it IS Tomodachi Life, so), but I find it still goes well to give a group overall on what’s been going on. Also, I made a page for QR Codes of most of the Miis in my game. Including a video to announce it (as it’s mostly been people on Youtube who have been asking):

Pokedex complete!

So, thanks to various people and quite a bit of using the Daycare Center, I’ve finished my Pokedex! :D Sealeo was the last Pokemon I needed:

Finally, while slightly off-topic, The Pokemon Center updated with new items for the week :D I picked up the Notebook.

SECRET BASES ARE BACK!

So, as announced earlier today… SECRET BASES ARE BACK! And I’m so excited about it T~T Secret Bases were my absolute favorite thing about Gen 3 and something I’d been very sad to see go. While we kind of had them in Gen 4, the weird item limit (especially since it stayed the same even when you removed the all the rocks) and just the lack of differences between rooms and the overall layout of the Underground felt a bit like a downgrade.

I also think the QR feature sounds neat :D I’ll be sure to put up the QR for my Secret Base as soon as it’s presentable!

Hopes and Wonderings:
1. Very excited they will be through StreetPass! QR thing is very exciting too as it means distance isn’t really a thing :D I wonder if they will also do it how those you traded with through Wonder Trade and GTS would show up under Acquaintances so you can have a few surprise ones as well.

2. I’m really curious about what the Special Skills could be. I’m not sure how often I’ll use them, but it sounds neat. Supposedly it includes hatching eggs faster, raising a Pokemon by a level, sharing new decorations (THIS ONE IS THE BEST ONE), and more. I’m guessing it’ll be similar to the O-Powers in X/Y. Possibly even like Join Avenue too.

3. I hope you can expand your secret base–not just for more room, but also to put more items down. Item limits are the bane of my creativity

So, yesterday (or well, today in some timezones) we managed to hit 100 million trades on the GTS :D Which means you can officially get a Fancy Patterned Vivillon through Mystery Gift (through the internet :P).

Sailor Moon Crystal First Thoughts

I won’t be making one of these for every episode, but now that the first episode has aired (I will probably make another at the end of the season which should be about a year from now due to the Bi-Weekly schedule), I wanted to at least give some opinions on it after watching the first episode. I did stay up until 6AM to watch as I was just super excited and hyped.

This won’t be long as I mostly just want to summarize some opinions, but in short, I actually really enjoyed it. I have some concerns, but I’ll get to those shortly. I didn’t mind the CG transformation at all (I would say the only thing that seemed off was her arm at the very start of it and how long it seems to be which worries me a bit on how much will be packed into each episode. Neither bothers me enough to take away from my enjoyment however), though, that could be because I tend to be less picky with art stuff in the first place.

It was nice to see Usagi’s original voice actress back, but her voice was so much more expressive than any of Usagi’s facial expressions which I really don’t fault the VA for, but for some reason the lack of emotion the artists did with Usagi’s face. And mostly just when her eyes were opened–she seemed much more expressive when her eyes were closed which seems really odd? I’m hoping they were just worried about making everything look nice and this will be improved a lot later.

I also noticed a lot of stuff I was hearing didn’t really feel like it was being said. A lot of translations felt more copy and paste versus implying the context which made it seem a bit rushed? I don’t know tons of Japanese (mostly random words and phrases), but I did see other people saying similar. One of the bigger ones to confuse me was when one of Usagi’s friends was talking then looked up and said something else that was translated as if she was responding to something someone else said and I’m still confused. I have an idea of what was meant, but…

Anyway, I really love the new opening a lot. Both the song and the actual opening are great. I do not care as much for the ending, but I tend to be more picky with ending songs so… My only “complaint” against the opening was some of the editing with the subtitles. For whatever reason, the individual lines for the characters are kind of forced together and it’s especially bad with Makoto’s and Minako’s lines are they list Minako’s first and Makoto’s second and it seems they just translated them as one full sentence versus two different lines.

And on some final notes:
1. While I think the roses around each new character introduction is a bit odd/sudden, I also think they and all the art inserts (Ending, Title screen, Middle of Episode ones) are super pretty.
2. It does seem to be more Manga-based which… I have mixed feelings on. The Manga felt kind of rushed for me and I didn’t care too much for the end of the first season (Usagi killing herself with a sword–just felt too sudden to me among other things). Not that I preferred what happened in the Anime’s ending (so much death T~T), but the latter definitely pulled my heart strings more than the former where I wasn’t entirely sure what to feel. There are things I liked about the Manga more than the Anime (such as explaining why the focus on Japan/where each general was while a different one was “working”, SuperS is much better, No Seiya trying to hit on Usagi when she already has a boyfriend, and Usagi’s romance with Mamoru are just a few examples), but the actual pacing was very disappointing to me.
3. Haruna’s completely different color palette, Shingo’s much lighter hair color, and Mako’s lighter hair completely throw me off. The first two more so than Makoto’s, but I’m not entirely sure how I feel about these changes yet.

Now to just try and be patient for the next episode T~T 2 weeks to go… I don’t know if I will watch them again live/simulcast, but it will definitely be what I look forward to each day. The next one will be airing the day after my birthday so yay~

Yay! My Pikachu Plushie is here :D

So, I placed an order at the new Pokemon Center site when it reopened and to my surprise, my Running Pikachu plushie actually arrived today!

He’s really soft and about 6-7 inches long. I was also really happy as the tag was just wrapped around his leg with an Elastic Bag versus the usual way things are tagged which is nice. And the tag is really cute too:

I can’t wait to see what they have in store next week. Still looking forward to when the Special Delivery Pikachu plush will be up for sale!

Pokemon TCG Online

Every so often, I play the Pokemon TCG Online. I first played it in Beta as a way to still collect cards which I don’t really do anymore in real life (except for occasional favorites) and also out of fun for dressing up a cute avatar.

Recently, I noticed the Pikachu Collection Box and the fact that the avatar shop and stuff is finally up and working on the game. Which also helped me realize I’ve missed out on a lot of stuff. Thus, if anyone has any of the following and would be willing to trade anything for it (I will tell you right now, I probably don’t have anything of worth to offer, but I’d be willing to discuss!), please let me know. That said, I do not battle on the TCG Online game–like with my Pokemon games, I only do the Single Player mode stuff. I prefer just using what I like versus actually making the SUPERMOSTBESTCOMPETITIVETEAMFOREVERYTHING and thus, usually do not do well because that is the mind set of most people nowadays.

Tomodachi Life: Finally, Switzerland!

So, I’m pretty excited as I finally had some Miis pick Switzerland to go to using a Travel Ticket. Not just that, but I learned a group of friends can actually go on a trip too:




As for why I was so excited… Well:

This was the last Treasure I needed that I could get by myself. The only two I still have I need to get through StreetPass from either a letter from my campers sent off or a gift from a Mii who camps here so…

Besides that, I’ve mostly just been trying to save up money. There’s a lot of expensive items in the game and I also want to take more Space trips to get the other Space Suits so… Plus, I’m still working on getting people together as well. Our most recent couples are Kuki and Wally:

Tomodachi Life Free Demo on the eShop tomorrow [For North America]!

So tomorrow, June 2nd (or if it goes out at midnight EST, later tonight for any timezones earlier than that), a free demo version of Tomodachi Life will be out for those of you in North America to download :) If you’ve liked my entries and/or my videos, but still aren’t sure if you should pick up the game, then I’d highly recommend trying out the demo!

IMPORTANT NOTES: This is slightly different than the Move-in Version. The Move-in Version is only gotten through a code from someone who has bought the game. (Those who bought it physically will have it in the game case, those who bought it digitally will have it on their digital receipt)

The differences are:
1. You can only play 20 times
2. There is no Panda Suit reward at the end (Don’t worry, you can still get the Panda Suit ingame through normal play–just need to hope it shows up in the Clothing Store)
