Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer – July’s Challenge~

7 / 1 / 16

With 391 total homes I can make, one thing I really have wanted to do is focus on HHD more before things get a bit busier (with Pokemon GO likely to come out this month and Style Savvy 3 finally coming out next month)–while it doesn’t look like I will finish with Happy Home Designer before then, I’ll still be bringing content until I do :)

But yes, onto July’s Challenge today! Hopefully we will have more houses soon.

July Challenge – The journey home.

Unfortunately, this is another case of a twist that left me making something completely different as the second item ended being from the January challenge. It just stinks to have an idea in your head and then essentially be stuck switching it up due to being forced to use both items in the house.

I really wish they would show all items right away even if they aren’t new… Just don’t show the “new” text, but it’d make sense to see everything given to you to get a better idea of the theme :(
Though, if you’re abducted, I don’t know how you’d fly back in that kind of plane anyway…

E3 2016 – Nintendo’s Treehouse & Other Game things thoughts

6 / 15 / 16

So, for those things that didn’t have a press conference, that is what this is for :)

Nintendo

So, before Nintendo even got to their Treehouse Live stuff on the 14th, last week they actually started a Miitomo campaign for Zelda as I mentioned in my last entry:
banner_retweet
The shirt shown in the above image was added to a Retweet reward for hitting 40,000 and we managed to get about 44K total before the time ended. There was even several special MyNintendo Missions for more coins which is good as some of the items will be available on MyNintendo.

E3 2016 Press Conferences Thoughts Summary~

6 / 13 / 166 / 13 / 16

While I normally do posts per day or even per press conference, I didn’t find myself having too much to say this year so I’m using this post for everything :) If I don’t list a press conference, I just didn’t have anything to say! I also want to just say while I know (and watched) Square Enix’s press conference last week, it falls into the not really have anything to say about it so that is why it isn’t included below. Meanwhile, you can find my thoughts on the latest Harvest Moon on my Tumblr.

Also, for those who asked me why I didn’t mention the shirt update to the Miitomo Zelda Campaign, I’ll be talking about it once it’s actually started along with Nintendo’s Treehouse Live stuff in a future entry. Since they aren’t doing a press conference, it doesn’t make too much sense to bring them up here so expect stuff on them in a couple of days!

But yes, while we weren’t able to afford transportation this year for E3, I still am making sure to watch all the conferences so lets get to it :)

The pause right now and recent game things

6 / 8 / 166 / 8 / 16

A lot of people have been expecting Happy Home Designer stuff right away (and a few demanding in various places :/) and while I really do plan to get to it and it will be the next game I fully put time in, right now I’m just not up to it. We’re currently having issues with the central air system in the house (paired with the fact that pollen counts are high) which means I’m not really sleeping well. I really don’t like making anything I’m not proud of and since Happy Home Designer is a fairly creative-based game, I don’t really trust myself in that category when I am having trouble staying awake lately. Most of the final badge grinding was done just through sheer determination as my energy was already dragged down. HHD isn’t the only thing I’ve had to put on hold right now either. I’ve been looking forward to reading some things and baking cookies and just lack the energy to really do it. I’m hoping I can maybe finally bake those chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles sometime this week, but we will need to see. (Plus, we also have a new puppy so… Her name ended up being Brownie).

Going into game stuff, when I’m not feeling too great, my general go-to games are either games I can play with someone else (usually my husband) or games where I don’t need to overthink anything. It helps me still feel productive as I genuinely get really frustrated if all I do is lay down. Taking it easy is hard for me :P

While in this kind of bleh period, an acquaintance was posting pictures of a game with cute horses and I’ve actually been really wanting to play an MMO for quite some time, so I looked it up and decided to try it out which brings me to the first thing I’ll be talking about in this entry–Star Stable Online. My character and my horse, Snowbelle:
sso
Now, I was mostly expecting a cute horse game (like some of the Barbie horse games), but as an MMO with quests. Instead, I got a game that is a lot more complicated than I expected with reputation systems, a big overarching plot (that gets fairly dark honestly), and a giant open world.

The game is only free up to level 5, which sounds like it isn’t a lot, but leveling is actually pretty slow and you can see A LOT in that time. As for the pay price, it’s $8.50 a month, $21 for 3 months, $35 for 6 months, or $75 for lifetime. The game has two currencies–one paid currency (Star Coins) and one normal. Star Coins can be bought or you get 100 free every week if you are a Star Member/have an ongoing membership. If you want to buy them, 100 star coins is 5.49 and it goes up from there.

I’m not going to go into all the prices, but I will admit the currency stuff is one of the issues I have with the game. All horses and many items are Star Coins only so it can be a while to save up from weekly ones unless you want to pay and the prices to actually buy them feel overpriced compared to the price for the memberships.

You can also only hold up to 10,000 of the normal currency at a time and most items get pretty pricey and you can only really afford one or two at a time. Selling item rewards and quests are the only ways to earn money (and there are so many repeatable quests…), but you only get 10% of an item’s worth when selling it which kind of stinks.

I also wish your horse would level up with you. I’m not too fond of the races (One mistake can completely cost you and make it so you won’t reach the next marker before time runs out) and those being the only way to level your horse (besides paying with Star Coins) is a bit disheartening.

The game is still pretty interesting though and I am enjoying checking in on it despite some things bothering me (or creeping me out) about it. For now, here’s some other pictures I’ve taken in the game:

Setting off fireworks in a bottle…

Moving onto the next game, if you follow my twitter and/or youtube, you will know I played and recently beat Travel Adventures with Hello Kitty which I genuinely wish I enjoyed more. I’d really love another game similar to Madeline’s European Adventure–just fully expanded with more countries and I had high hopes for it. On a brighter note, I had lots of fun playing around with the Chanrio Maker for the video layout. I think she came out really cute:
chanrio3

Besides those games, my husband has been enjoying Overwatch a lot and been bringing me into playing with him. The only character I’m even somewhat decent with is Mercy, but I like healing so… I just wish she had a skin I liked. There isn’t a nice pink one (the closest is the Imp skin which I’d rather not use) and I really just wish that every character (especially Mercy and D.VA) had skins is Mei’s Snow Plum color scheme because it is amazing and easily my favorite skin. Unfortunately, I am not very good with Mei.

When he isn’t having me play Overwatch with him, he’s having me play PAYDAY 2 with him. While it’s not really my favorite game (I generally prefer playing good guys), it can still be kind of fun, but also really nervewracking and can get overwhelming very very very fast. I wish you can trade/give eachother masks and colors and things because I get so many items I never will use/want and it sucks to be stuck with them. So many things are achievement locked too unfortunately. Right now, I’m using a tiara:
payday
I’m level 99 now so I’ll be max level next… I don’t expect to ever bother with Infamy levels at the moment due to the fact that I don’t want to lose all my skills and I don’t care for any of the items you earn from it either.

Moving onto some exciting things–E3 is next week! While I’ve chose not to go this year for multiple reasons, I am still really looking forward to it. Of course, we already have some pre-E3 hype such as the Pokemon Sun & Moon news earlier this month (of the news, I am most excited about the QR things) and the confirmation that the next Story of Seasons game is being translated:
CkXWfB-VEAA1eYq
(though, we won’t be getting it until 2017 unfortunately). I’m excited for it, but I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic as I found Story of Seasons super disappointing and frustrating and I just… while I am excited for it (beyond not being particularly interested in any of the bachelors thus far), I don’t know if I will get it if I see a repeat of issues I had with Story of Seasons as it’s one of the games I really just… have no motivation to finish and kind of feel like it was a waste to get it. Maybe I’ll pick it up again one day, but right now…

Regardless, Nintendo announced more of their E3 plans and while I am disappointed there will be no special direct or video for announcements, I do enjoy Treehouse Live… but I enjoy it solely for gameplay–not for news being mixed in and well, now it’s literally both. They’ve already started some of their E3 plans with the latest Miitomo retweet campaign:
banner_top
We’ve already hit the 20,000 for both so I’m pretty excited to see what items we may get. While they showed them all for Splatoon, they only show the two wigs which makes me super curious what the items may be. Maybe they will be themed after whatever they show at E3? We won’t start getting any of the items until their Treehouse Live stuff has started afterall. The items will be available the same way as the Splatoon ones were–the items from the retweet campaign, items in Miitomo Drop, items in the Miitomo Shop, and items in My Nintendo. I hope I will have enough reward points for the My Nintendo items, but I’ve been running low recently…

Besides all the cool Zelda stuff, Pokemon Sun and Moon gameplay will also be showed on the first day of Treehouse Live along with Pokemon GO having a special Q&A on Day 2. I’m not too interested in the other stuff they plan to show besides Pokemon and Zelda (and well, I’m at least intrigued by Dragon Quest VII).

I can’t believe E3 is next week. I’m really excited to watch all the press conferences. As always, I’ll mostly keep my thoughts on Twitter unless I find I have a lot to say.

Heading over to non-video game related things, I’ve also been putting time into updates for other sites of mine. Besides continuing to update my Mega Audino collection site, I also have been making sure Star Collector has been being kept up to date. Updates aren’t too often right now (at least one a month, but rare more than 2-3 a month), but once the game is fully going, I’m hoping it will be more helpful.

I also have been poking my head in on Flight Rising a bit again due to it celebrating its 3 Year Anniversary and the new color update. While I adore my dragons, I really hate how expensive lair expansions are and everything about the food system (along with just finding it hard to earn money on the site). Regardless, I managed to expand my lair a bit recently and this is one of my most recent dragons I have gotten:
24072743_350
I still have a lot I want to get, so maybe one day.

But yes, that’s it for now. Hopefully activity should increase either during or after E3 :)

Short version: Updates are kind of slow right now due to various reasons, constantly bringing it up/demanding certain things will not change that, they will continue soon, but I am doing other stuff even if it isn’t clear from my blog/youtube.

This is cross-posted from my Animal Crossing: New Leaf focused blog. You can click here to read it where it was originally posted.

So, after nearly three years, I finally got all gold badges! I’m so happy.

But yes, let’s get to these lovely lines from Phineas…

You can also watch me talking to Phineas with this lovely highlight from the stream I did today! (A link to the full stream is in the description of the video)

And to finish it off… All of the lovely badges:

And my final playtime:

Yay! With that, the game is finally finished for me. Catalog complete, town done, all gold badges… Everything is finished. I might still play time to time to play with friends and/or do Dream Suite stuff, but for now, I can finally relax :) And also get back to Happy Home Designer!

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer – June 2016 challenge!

6 / 1 / 16

So, if you’ve been following my Animal Crossing: New Leaf dedicated blog and/or my Twitter, you’ll know my main focus right now as been getting those last few badges in New Leaf. Right now, I’m on my last one which is for diving and while needing only 20% of the amount the Bug and Fishing badges needed, diving is a much slower process and it’s not very fun.

Of course, I still made sure to take some time to do the June challenge today. While I decided to experiment a bit outside the theme (I’ll get to that a bit more below), I still had fun doing something cute. I will say though that I am finding it so hard to work with all these giant items. I love the unique items, but I wish we had some smaller ones too.

This is also the first challenge to give only one item (though, it’ll be two items if you missed December 2015’s Challenge) so I’m wondering if challenges may end up repeating themselves or eventually not give us any items at all.

June 2016 Challenge – A feast for a bear

Rating Address: 0806-5719-309

As you may notice, rather than doing a feast for a bear, I did a meal shared by many bears. It hit me right away when I saw it and my original idea actually had a big feast table with one big bear, but being forced to use the giant cauldron of stew kind of killed that and I had to go with something smaller. Even an idea to give that single bear a feast was just not as great to work with when I’d have a giant pot there too.

Regardless, I still had fun with it~ But it definitely is making me want smaller items. I do love the giant teddy bear though. As always, you’ll be able to watch the video version of this over on my Youtube channel :)

Miitomo: Most Wanted New Features

5 / 17 / 16

With Miitomo’s most recent update, you’re able to add friends through their email address which is really nice for people who have friends they keep up with only on instant messengers, but don’t really care for social networks (I rarely even use mine and mostly only started using Twitter more due to my site itself–it’s very convenient for short opinions).

This was one of the features I’ve wanted for a while and it made me think of other features I’d really like to see, so here we go!

1. Being able to use Candy for something besides unlocking answers. I have no interest in seeing my friend’s answers sooner. I don’t have this super curiousity hounding me because I may not know their answer right this second. As of typing this, I have 1,469 pieces of candy. I could literally listen to every question I haven’t heard yet and still have candy left over.

It’s a shame too as candy could be used for many other things. Some examples are trading in amounts of candy for coins and/or game tickets. There aren’t many ways to earn coins a day and game tickets for Miitomo Drop are only gotten using My Nintendo or the random daily items. My Nintendo is especially frustrating due to just how overpriced the single and 5 Game Tickets appear compared to the price for 10 Game Tickets.

Being able to use candy would be a great chance to actually use them and maybe even give people a reason to pick candy instead of the same item again. Another would be an item set that may even cost candy–while it’s not an option I’m as fond of over being able to trade them in, it’s still an option.

2. Interior Options. I’m a bit different than most people where I actually don’t want all the interior options for Tomodachi Life or furniture we can buy and arrange. I actually like this being a bit more simple. What I’d prefer though is the option to change to one of the other personality type’s rooms. There are 16 different room options, being able to switch to one (whether it be free, cost coins, or using candy) would be really nice. My favorite room is one that is in the same overall category as me, but a different sub-category so instead of that nice pink one, I’m stuck with a purple one.

Your room is permanently set by whatever personality type you get first so even if you change your personality type after, your room will stay the same. If only I knew that when I started Miitomo :P Then maybe I’d have the pink room.

Regardless, I feel like this would be a nice compromise to wanting a fully customized room versus a room that could at least be someone’s favorite color.

3. The ability to gift and trade items. The fact that you have the option to retake an item you’ve already gotten from Miitomo Drop or buy another of an item in the same color that you already have is pretty interesting to me because you actually can’t do anything with them. You can’t put multiples on at once. You’re literally just stuck with them. And yet, the option is there. I feel like this is a feature that needs to or should be coming if that option is there in the first place as it makes little sense otherwise.

Also, I like gifting my friends. Plus, this would be incredibly handy with the Daily Shop which brings me to….

4. Have the Daily Shop items work like in Tomodachi Life. When you get an item to show up in the Daily Shop, it should permanently be available under the main shop tabs in the colors that were shown in the Daily Shop. As you see more colors of the item, they get added to the main shop. This allows people to not only build up their main shop, but help out more people in the long run. Right now, you just need to hope someone buys something you want and is either on your friend’s list currently wearing it or takes a Miifoto with it along with the address to said Miifoto so you can save it and get the outfit from it.

It’s not a fun system and a lot of is just luck of the draw. I’ve seen so many items I liked, but do not care for the color of and I’m not even sure if it exists in the color I want due to how the system works.

5. Be able to wear more than one accessory at a time. A cute brooch or necklace should not take away my kitten companion. It’s just kind of silly and most other games with these kind of character customization apps usually allow 3-6 accessories–never just one (or have more categories like “back” items being completely separate). In general, more layering would be pretty fun.

6. More ways to earn coins each day. There is a limit of 50 Coins from viewing 10 friends’ answers, 45 Coins from answering 3 questions (which you may not even be able to get if you answered all your questions), and 50 Coins from commenting 5 times on friends’ answers. That’s 145 coins. That will afford you absolutely nothing. If you’re lucky, maybe one of the daily rewards will be some coins, but if not… :/ Even though Miitomo Drops usually last about a month, that gets you at most 4,350 Coins a month and then there are items that literally switch out everyday. There really shouldn’t be a limit to how many coins you can earn per day. If you want to play that much, you should be allowed to. Simple as that.

7. Other Animal Companions. I just really want my Puppy companion, okay?!

So, what do you most want to see? I hope Miitomo will keep getting improved over time.

Tomodachi Life: The Final Updates & Goals

5 / 16 / 165 / 17 / 16

So, this is a big finality Tomodachi Life up. Don’t worry, I may still add new photos into the mix on the main page when I hear back or get a lot of StreetPasses, but with this entry my goals have been finished…

1. There is no more DLC. The final Spotpass item in the last colors has been sent out and with it, they have said that no more Spotpass items will be sent out. Yes, including new ones–this will be the final special import item as you can see below:

For those of you who may be freaking out now, yes, this really lessens the ways you can get them. Unfortunately, you either need to know people in real life who can give them to you OR find someone who has a QR of a Mii wearing the outfit. This will unlock the ability to buy that outfit in that color. Keep in mind that these items will not be added to your total item count unless you’ve downloaded them (and those colors) so you can still get the item collection achievements without any you may have missed.

2. With this, I now have all clothes and hats in every color and well:

:D You can also check it out video-wise below!:

But yes, we still have some last photos to show in this entry to fill it up too ^_^ So here we go!

The DLC that has come out in the last few months
